Anne Pappalardo Missing: Urgent Search Underway for Mansfield Woman in Natchaug State Forest

MANSFIELD, CT – October 28, 2025:
Authorities have launched an urgent search for 61-year-old Anne Marie Pappalardo, a Mansfield woman who was reported missing after she was last seen on Sunday, according to a Silver Alert issued by police.

The Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) confirmed that multiple agencies are actively searching for Pappalardo in Natchaug State Forest, which spans areas of Eastford, Chaplin, and Hampton. The extensive forest terrain has prompted a coordinated response involving Connecticut State Police, search and rescue crews, and trained K9 units.

Search Efforts Focus on Natchaug State Forest

As of Tuesday, search teams are combing the wooded areas of Natchaug State Forest in hopes of locating Pappalardo. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the forest area until further notice to prevent interference with search operations.

Officials emphasized that public cooperation is “essential to the success of this critical operation.” They explained that additional foot traffic in the area could disturb scent trails used by K9 units, making it more difficult for rescue teams to track Pappalardo’s movements.

The EnCon Police stated, “We understand that people want to help, but the best way to do so right now is to stay out of the area and allow trained personnel to conduct the search effectively.”

Public Asked to Cooperate

Authorities have also asked that anyone who is approached by state police or EnCon personnel in or near Natchaug State Forest cooperate fully and promptly leave the area if requested. The forest remains temporarily closed to hunters, anglers, hikers, and all recreational visitors while the search continues.

As the operation intensifies, Connecticut State Police and Environmental Conservation officers continue to deploy ground teams, drones, and K9 search units in hopes of finding Anne Marie Pappalardo safely.

Anyone with information about Pappalardo’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Connecticut State Police immediately.
